Es la década de 1980 y en McKinley High, hay dos grupos de adolescentes, los fenómenos con fresco y carismático Daniel Desario, marimacho Lindsay Weir y los Geeks con tímida joven hermano Sam Lindsay, suave Bill Haverchuck y mujeriego autoproclamado, Neal Schweiber.
